About

Born out of our experience of taking guests around Melbourne since 2010.

We realised not everyone has time for a longer tour.

So, we have listened to your needs and designed some shorter, quality bike tours of Melbourne.

To do this, we have a storage facility (within the free tram zone) and 26 new bikes. We are very excited to offer Melbourne these new tours.

City Cycle Tours is now working with a charity that helps the long term unemployed get back into the workforce. Good Cycles is a social enterprise and charity using bikes to engage, educate, empower and find employment for those experiencing disadvantage.

100% of the profit from all their commercial operations goes to support their social programs – working with asylum seekers, recent refugees, at-risk youth and long term unemployed. Good Cycles will be servicing our bikes among other arrangements we have made.

Bike paths vs roads?

Where possible we will ride on bike paths but the network may not be sufficient for where we want to go.
Hence, we cannot say that ‘we will not ride on roads’ – we will have to.
We are very safety conscious. We give quite a thorough safety talk prior to commencing the tour.

If you are a nervous rider, we will happily teach you a few things you can do to be extra safe. We can start by riding on paths until you gain your confidence.

Helmets?

It is the law here that all cyclists must wear helmets. Helmets will be supplied.

Bringing a bag?

There is a small rack on the front or rear of each bike that can hold a handbag or backpack there.

Just arriving from the airport and need somewhere to put your luggage?

There is an inexpensive service at Flinders Street Station (a major station in Melbourne, across the road from the Federation Square tour start location).

Please contact them prior to arriving to ensure your luggage will fit in the storage lockers – Travellers Aid luggage storage
